“There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and the one who fears has not been made perfect in love.”
God’s love for you is not like the love of a dad that rules His house with his children afraid of him; God’s children obey Him because of the love He shows them.
You do not have to be afraid of God’s punishment of your mishaps when you believe in Jesus.
“There is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
“The Lord is that Spirit; where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
When you have been made perfect in love you are free, happy, and excited about being His child because you know He is smiling at you when He sees you.
Fear freezes you from action,
from reaching out, from loving.
King David knew that a man could not see God’s face without dying,
but it did not prevent him from seeking it.
“To You my heart says: ‘Seek My face.’
Your face, Yahu, I seek.” and
“a day in your courts is better than a thousand (elsewhere).”
In other words, “that split second of seeing You is worth dying for, because I love you.”
Love propels you to selfless places; the reason why we live in fear is because we do not want to give up our life.
“He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.”
Be fearless, be selfless.
Do the will of God. Believe in Jesus.
