Are We Testing God?

When your fathers tempted me, tested me, and saw my works forty years.

I was grieved with that generation, and said, “They always do wrong in their heart, and they have not known my ways.

So I swore in my anger, they shall not enter into my rest.”

Take warning brothers, unless there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

~ Hebrews 3: 9-12 ~

 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, you shall not tempt the Lord your God.”

That passage is: “Do not put Yahu your God to the test as you did at Massah.”

And again: “The name of the place was called Massah and Meribah because of the quarreling of the sons of Isra’El , and because they tested Yahu saying, ‘Is

Yahu among us, or not?”

I Yahu search the heart,
    I try the mind,
    to give every man according to his ways,
        according to the fruit of his deeds.

It is God’s job to test us to see whether we are true or not;

It is not our job to test God to see whether He is.

As it is written:

You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?” But who in the world are you, O man, who talks back to God? Will what is formed say to the one who formed it, “Why did you make me like this?” Does the potter have no right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honor and another for common use?
